Why daily rice? Basmati has its place, but everyday Indian kitchens often rely on simple, non-basmati varieties. NEAVE AGRO is built around the rice we grew up eating in Gondia rice meant for everyday meals.

How we started

It took leaving Gondia to realise how special home really was.

I grew up in Gondia, where rice from our own farm was simply part of life. I never had to think about buying rice from a supermarket. Then I moved to Pune. Suddenly, I was buying rice from the market and I noticed that the taste, texture and experience were not the same as the rice I had grown up eating.

That small realisation became a bigger question: Why shouldn't people outside Gondia be able to experience the rice that we grew up with?

As a farmer's daughter, I know that every bag of rice carries months of work, patience and hope.

NEAVE AGRO was born to bring Gondia's everyday rice to more homes while helping create a closer connection between the people who grow our food and the people who eat it.

Meet Janvi Thakre.

A farmer's daughter, an engineer, and someone who believes that people, nature, craft and technology can belong in the same story.

The person behind NEAVE AGRO

Engineer by profession. Farmer by mind. Soil person by soul.

I grew up in Gondia, Maharashtra, and completed my schooling there up to Class 12. I later moved to Pune and completed my B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication from MIT Pune, in 2024.

By profession, I am an engineer and I love technology. But the way I see the world has always been deeply connected to the soil. My father is a farmer, and growing up as a farmer's daughter taught me to see the effort behind every crop, every grain and every meal. That connection became one of the reasons NEAVE AGRO had to begin.

I am also passionate about people and the stories they carry. I love travelling, meeting people from different parts of India, listening to their experiences and discovering the things that make each community unique. I care deeply about nature, animals and the environment, and I want my work to create something useful beyond business.

I love exploring endangered crafts, traditional art and skills that are slowly disappearing. One of my long-term dreams is to build a platform that connects people with artisans, craftspeople and creators whose work deserves to be seen, supported and preserved.

From Seed to Grain

Before rice reaches your kitchen, it passes through months of field work, harvesting, drying and milling.

Prepare & Sow

The land is prepared and selected seed begins the crop's journey.

Prototype photography uses selected web images; licensing/attribution should be retained for any image used in the commercial launch, and your own Gondia/farm photography should replace generic images wherever possible.
